5th OAI Workshop Beijing China – Call for Participation

We cordially invite the OpenAirInterface Community and other interested parties to participate in the 5th OpenAirInterface Workshop at the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China on 20-22 June, 2018, and to submit proposals for presentations and demos showcasing recent developments in your work with the OAI.

All contributions will be oral presentations of 30 minutes including Q&A. Contributions will be in one of the following seven topics.

S1: Special Session: OpenAirInterface Usage Scenarios

S2: C-RAN and Functional Splits

S3:5G NR and UE

S4: 5G Core Network

S5: NB-IoT and LTE-M

S6: Virtualization/Softwarization

S7: SDR Platforms

We are also looking forward to proposals for demos on the above topics.

We shall provide further information on participation fee, accommodation and venue soon.


Kindly submit your proposal for either Presentation or Demo to contact@openairinterface.org by 20th of May, 2018. A title and abstract is sufficient for now.


The workshop will have one full day of training by experts of the OpenAirInterface on topics related to both RAN as well as OAI Core Network. Given recent developments in OAI on 5G-NR, this time we have also added a training session on this subject.

The training will cover the following specific topics:

– OAI Basics and General Overview
– OAI L1 and L2 Procedures
– OAI Code Development and Testing
– OAI Core Network Control Plane
– OAI Core Network User Plane
– OAI 5G NR: New Radio Implementation in the OAI
– OAI Continuous Integration and Code Stabilization Project in the OAI Community

All participants to the workshop will have full access to the training that will be organized on a separate day from workshop sessions.
