Summary of the project The project PFMM (ANR 2005) aims at developing reconfigurable (SDR) equipment able to communicate through at least 2 Radio Access Technologies using two different frequency band and providing a wide access to our results for the R&D community (French and International). The work in PFMM is mainly a software work, which will be integrated to the IDROMEL harware platform. Those software components will be integrated in order to provide a realistic SDR radio access network, which will be validated through experimentations in Sophia Antipolis (France). Among the targeted standards in the project, we can distinghish on one hand OFDM-type modulations, and on the other hand WCDMA-type modulation. The main expected achievements of the project are : an open source validation platform for hardware and software processing blocks (layer 1 and 2) a IPv6 based network architecture with quasi-optimal mobility and QoS management some connectivity tests with the Wimax Standard realistics demonstrations and trials
Finnally, numerous outcomes are expected from this project in many fields, since our platform will be a very powerful validation tool for studies in SDR, cognitive radio, Flexible spectrum management techniques, ... |
